For some lucky individuals, hunting season has already arrived. The early bird hunters have a prime opportunity and unique weather landscape to work with... but it's important to know what to do in Idaho during the warmer months.

It should come as no surprise to anyone that Idaho's weather is unpredictable. Last week, we were all enjoying daily high temps in the 70s while this week presents a week's worth of mid-90 temperatures.

We should expect to deal with warm weather for at least two more weeks before things cool down a bit.

The last day we'll flirt with triple digits should be tomorrow according to Accuweather. And, based on that same report - we should start seeing consistent cool weather starting Monday, September 16th.

It's you're hunting in Idaho, it's important to remember that the Gem State takes waste and lost meat very seriously.

"Allowing game meat to spoil will not only result in lost meat, but the hunter may also be cited for wasting game," Idaho Fish & Game said in their press release.

"Having a plan in place before you harvest in warm weather will help you end up with a freezer full of quality meat, instead of the heartache of spoiled meat."
