West Nile Mosquitoes in Idaho, Best Ways to Protect Yourselves
Y’all why does no one talk about the bug problems in Idaho? The mosquitoes right now are terrible!
This is top of mind for me I guess because I recently moved out to Kuna, and with my current living situation I can’t let my dogs in the backyard yet, so I’ve gotta take em’ out to the front yard on a leash to the bathroom.
Well, every time I go out there, I feel like I’m getting eaten alive by mosquitoes!
And today I saw that KTVB just reported West Nile carrying mosquitoes were recently discovered in the Twin Falls area... so what’s to say they aren’t here thriving in the Treasure Valley?
I don’t know if any of em’ have West Nile or not, but I’d rather not find out, so let’s protect ourselves!
KTVB shared these helpful tips from public health officials to help protect us from mosquito bites...
“Using insect repellent, especially at dawn and dusk when mosquitoes are most active. Wearing loose-fitting clothing with long sleeves and pants. Installing screens on open windows and doors. Drain any standing water, including in clogged gutters, pools, bird baths, around property every three to six days.”
