NFL Pro Bowler Ryan Clady Returns to Boise State This Weekend
It's a homecoming weekend for the ages at Boise State as the Broncos prepare for their first game in the PAC-12 against Utah State.
The Broncos will be hosting the game on The Blue and will be honoring the 2007 Fiesta Bowl team with some really iconic helmets that honor the legendary team.
One familiar face will be in the crowd as well.
Boise State Hall of Famer and NFL All-Pro offensive tackle Ryan Clady will be at Albertsons Stadium to raise the 'Blue Chaos' flag before kickoff.
Clady was an absolute legend at Boise State. He was the first consensus All-American in Boise State history and was named second team All-America by Sports Illustrated in 2006 after helping the Broncos finish 13-0 and cap the season with that major Fiesta Bowl win.
In a statement to Boise State Athletics, Clady said:
It's amazing. I haven't been back to Boise in a few years now, so it's special to be able to do this new tradition. There are quite a few guys that can take this honor as well, but I'm glad they chose me. I'm excited to hang out with the guys. That's one of the best parts about Boise State. It's a special brotherhood and I'm excited to get back
Clady made an impact in the NFL as well, selected 12th overall by the Denver Broncos in 2008. This marked the first time a Boise State player was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
While in the NFL, he spent seven seasons in Denver, starting all 98 games in which he appeared. He was named First Team All-Pro in 2009 and 2012 and was also on Denver's 2015 team that won Super Bowl 50.
The Broncos and Aggies kick off at 5:30 p.m. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
