Terrifying Dash Cam Footage Captures Downtown Boise Traffic Collision

Driving in the Treasure Valley has become a chore. While we're lucky to not live in a place like Houston or Los Angeles--with jam-packed roads everywhere--we do have a decent amount of cars on the road given the size of the roads we have to work with.

The 'Boise Boom' has introduced a level of traffic to our area that many are simply not used to.

Traffic is one thing--distracted driving is another. The more you're on the roads, the more it seems like people have more 'distractions' than ever and often times, this leads to running a red or a poor merge. Sometimes, it results in things even worse--like wrecks.

A video has been making the rounds online that shows crystal clear footage of a severe traffic incident that happened in downtown Boise on Sunday afternoon, June 21st. No traffic, no chaos....just one vehicle that ran through a red light and put several lives in danger.

Here's a look at what one local driver captured on their dash cam on Front Street:

This video should serve as a reminder to slow down, be attentive, obey traffic signals and give yourself plenty of time to get where you need to go. 

Police have not released a statement on this crash at the time of publishing this -- however, some community members have posted online about the family in the white SUV and they have alleged that all are safe.  We hope to confirm those claims.

When you're out and about--do you notice more safe drivers or aggressive drivers? Boise residents are quick to complain about traffic laws and other vehicles on the road but at the end of the day, even the safest of drivers are at risk when they get behind the wheel.

It is important for us to note that safety is our utmost concern and we hope that everyone involved in this video is safe.  Of course, on social media, everyone has an opinion on what happened in this instance and it just isn't fair to assume.
