Idaho State Police Reported 6 Serious Accidents Over the Weekend: 3 Fatal

Over the weekend, the Idaho State Police shared reports on 6 serious accidents that had happened on Idaho highways. From the reports, we learned that three people had passed away, three others had been injured, and two of the accidents caused fires.

Each accident is being investigated by the Idaho State Police, and details can be found below.

3 Killed, 3 Injured in Idaho Weekend Highway Accidents, Including Missing Biker From Washington

Beginning on Friday evening, August 7th, and into Monday Morning, August 10th, we received reports from the Idaho State Police regarding 6 serious accidents. In the news release for the first accident, the ISP reported finding a missing biker deceased off the side of the highway.

The biker was reported missing on July 31st, and ISP believes the fatal accident happened at an unknown time on July 30th on Highway 12 near mile marker 161. The 43-year-old rider of the motorcycle was from Seattle, Washington.

The ISP report says that the evidence found at the scene of the crash indicates the rider had been traveling east on US12, left the roadway off the left shoulder, and crashed into the trees.

Car Accident Into Salmon River in Idaho Kills Elderly Driver

The Idaho State Police reported a fatal crash near Riggins on Friday at 7:23 PM on US95 near mile marker 198.

A 74-year-old male from Riggins, Idaho, was traveling northbound on US95 in a silver 2016 Hyundai Tucson when he went left of center, off the left shoulder, and into the Salmon River.

According to the report, bystanders attempted to help the driver get out of the vehicle but were unable. He passed away at the scene of the accident.

ISP also reported a second fatal accident on US95 on Friday evening. Around 7:54 PM on US95 near mile marker 353 a 2-vehicle accident was reported. One of the drivers involved later passed away at the hospital.

A 36-year-old male from Moscow, Idaho, was driving a silver 2007 Kia Rio northbound on US Highway 95 when the vehicle crossed left of center and collided head-on with a southbound traveling white 2014 Honda Accord driven by a 19-year-old female from Palouse, Washington.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital by ground ambulance where the male driver of the Kia passed away. Police aren’t sure if the Kia driver was wearing his seatbelt when the accident happened. The female driver of the Honda was wearing hers.
