One of the biggest gas stations in the entire country will soon be closing over 1000 locations! These closures began in 2024, and will continue through the rest of 2025. This company is a gas and oil GIANT will actually be shifting their focus and expanding their services for electric vehicles (EVs).

WHAT COMPANY?

The company in question that will soon be shutting down over 1000 locations is Shell. Now Shell has 54 locations in Utah sprawling ALL OVER Utah from St. George, to Salt Lake, to Kanab! In the future, they intend on installing around 270,000 EV charging stations by 2030, and they've already begun!

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE REMAINING SHELL STATIONS?

If your local Shell station is not affected by the closures, you will receive an upgraded retail space, expanded charging stations, and even convenience offers!

WHAT UTAH SHELL STATIONS WILL BE AFFECTED?

So far, there has been no announcement made as to which Utah Shell stations will be affected.

In 2023, Shell USA acquired the charging company Volta, and they now own over 3,000 charging stations across 31 states. There are also over 3,400 charging stations that are currently in development right now.
