If there is one thing that I will never mess with, it's paranormal entities and all of that stuff. You could add snakes and spiders to that list, but there is something about paranormal energy that is terrifying because you can't escape it. You can't see it, you don't know it's coming, and honestly - how do you stop it?

Introducing the Horton Mines

As much as I avoid encountering paranormal experiences and haunted places, I still enjoy learning about them and seeing them... from afar. Case in point, the Horton Mines in Pershing County, Nevada which is just over 6 hours away from Boise. According to the website Hwy.co:

You’ll find the abandoned Horton Mine in central Nevada off Highway 376 south of Austin at the edge of Lander County. Bunker Hill mountain peak is just north of the mine, and the Toiyabe Range Peak is just south.

It’s quite remote and only accessible by traveling along Highway 376 to Kingston Canyon Road. Turn right just before the Kingston Campground. The abandoned Horton Mine is 900 feet beneath the mountain.

Let me just say, the entrance of the cave is terrifying and in the videos of the mine that I reviewed, I can certainly tell you something is going on in that mine. You can check out some of the histories of the mine here including how it was started... still, no one can explain the paranormal activity taking place in the mine.

Machinery, chains, and screams oh my!

No, seriously, this is one of the eeriest videos you'll ever see and it's the stuff of nightmares.  Let's take a look at what we're seeing before we get to what we're hearing...

A Terrifying & Haunted Mine is 6 Hours Away From Boise

Exploring Horton Mine in Nevada is easily one of the most terrifying things you'll ever experience. The screams, paranormal activity, and sounds of machinery in complete darkness will certainly keep you awake at night...

Again - in photos, this is all terrifying stuff but you have to see the chains moving for yourself. Take a look:

And did we mention the mist that forms inside the mine? The screeching sounds coming from deep within the mine? Take a look and listen - if you dare.

Is that not the most terrifying thing you've ever heard and seen? What do you think is going on inside this abandoned mine? Will we ever know? Share your thoughts with me here.
