Let's face it: sorting your trash can be a pain

After a long day at work or wrangling your feral children, the last thing most of us feel like doing is milling through the stockpile of unsorted trash that's been accumulating next to the cans for a week.

But as summer starts to winds down and Idahoans start tidying and prepping our yards for the cold months, how we get rid of items like leftover fireworks, lighter fluid, and pesticides is kind of a big deal.

If not for how dangerous it could be, our lazy butts would happily give these items and the like to good ole Chuck 🙈 

Unfortunately, we have a conscience, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know fireworks and lighter fluid are classic fire-starters. And anyone who's used any number of pesticides to keep the creepy-crawlies at bay knows they can leak toxic chemicals into Idaho's water table.

In the end, it's not just about our needs or conveniences. How we handle our household waste affects our community and our ecosystem.
