Crazy Images Show Firefighting Planes Swooping Over Boise [Photos]
Dubbed the 'Valley Fire', residents of Southeast Boise and really the city as a whole have been dealing with that 'wildfire smell' and less-than-ideal air quality.
Having burned nearly 10,000 acres at the time of this publishing, there is no denying that this fire has been a threat to wildlife, Idaho foothills, and plenty of Idaho homes. Residents and neighborhoods were aggressively put on evacuation alert, power was shut down for some as a preventative measure--and luckily, thanks to fire crews, homes and people have remained untouched.
Take a look at some of the images that were captured just days ago--as fire crews attacked this terrifying blaze from the sky!

It is surreal to see the fire from the angle of these photos. Each summer in Idaho, we can grow so accustomed to hearing about wildfires that we often forget how scary or how threatening they can be to our land and neighbors.
These pictures are so clear, you can nearly see the pilots in the cockpit!
As of Tuesday morning, October 8th, the Valley Fire remains active but is labeled as 66% contained according to Idaho Fish & Game's wildfire map. You can see that map for yourself, HERE.
Other photos from the Valley Fire submitted by local residents show just how aggressive the smoke was not only over the Boise foothills, but over the city as well late last week.
