Boise Drivers NEED to Know About Saturday’s Road Closures

We all know traffic in downtown Boise is something people try to avoid for the most part. The second it hits 3 pm traffic starts piling up and it's usually a pain to try and navigate through downtown around it.

This weekend traffic's going to be looking a little different with several road closures in downtown Boise and the surrounding areas.

This Saturday is the FitOne race which includes a half marathon, 10k, and a 5k. This is always one of the most popular races in Boise and as excited as we are that it's back again it does mean that there will be road closures to be aware of if you plan on driving in the Boise area Saturday morning.

Road closures in the Boise area are starting as early as 5am and are going as late as 11am. Unless it's urgent that you need to get downtown your best bet would be to avoid the downtown Boise area in that time to avoid all of the road closures that will effect Boise drivers tomorrow morning. Also be aware of the parking closures including Warm Springs Ave from Avenue B to the Idaho Botanical Gardens. There will be no parking from 3am-10am

Here are the traffic closures to be aware of:

• 5am-8am: W. Idaho St. from Capitol Blvd. to N. Avenue B
• 5am-10:30am: W. Front St. to W. State St. and S. 6th St. to S. 9th St.
• 9:15am-11am: S. Capitol Blvd. from W. Front St. to W. River St.
• 7am-11am: S. 9th St. from W. River St. to University Dr.
• 7am-11am (approximately): S. Capitol Blvd. and Crescent Rim Dr.
• Two lanes from 7am-noon: S. Americana Blvd. from W. Shoreline Dr. to W. Emerald St. at S. Roosevelt St. & Latah St. at Morris Hill Rd.
• One lane from 6am-9am: Marden St.
• One lane with traffic allowed to go eastbound only 6am-9am: E. Warm Springs Ave. from Broadway Ave./Avenue B to Starview Dr.
  • Westbound traffic is going to be detoured to Parkcenter Blvd. in order to go west to downtown
• One lane from 7:30am-10am: River Run Dr. from E. Parkcenter Blvd. to the Cottonwood Apartments
