There are few greater pleasures in life than traveling and seeing the world.

Enjoying new scenery for the very first time. Experiencing exotic foods and dining. Getting told "Ma'am, you don't have your Star Card. You are forbidden from boarding this plane."

You know, those great pleasures.

What's a Star Card? What did I miss?

Ok, where to start. You know your Idaho driver's license? Pull it out real quick and take a peek at the top-right corner. If there's no star there, then it's not a Star Card.

Soon, you'll need a Star Card to board a flight or to enter a federal building.

Basically, they look just like a driver's license, but with a star. The idea is that the new Star Card would replace your current driver's license.

When's the deadline?

Coming soon, actually. Beginning May 7th, 2025, you will need a Star Card in order to fly. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

How do I get one?

Per the DMV, you're going to need a few things:

  • Birth certificate
  • Social security card
  • (2) proofs of Idaho residency
  • Any marriage or divorce licenes

Yeah, it's a lot.

Speaking of driver's licenses, please be careful out there. There are so many distracted, angry, and just plain bad drivers out there.

We like to have fun with these articles and make stupid jokes, but at the end of the day, we're simply here to entertain you. There's nothing we want more than for you to be safe, happy, and living your best life!

Please be safe.
