When Does the Daylight Saving Time Change Happen in Idaho in 2026
There has been quite a bit of talk recently about eliminating the daylight saving time changes, but we have at least one more time change happening. And, technically, this next one is the end of daylight saving.
It’s just not the end of daylight saving forever. The time change in the spring is the start of daylight saving and the fall back an hour is the end of daylight saving. So, when is the end of daylight saving this year?
When Does Daylight Saving Time End in Idaho in 2026
I think this upcoming fall time change will be nice for a few reasons. First, the clocks fall back an hour and we get that extra hour of sleep, and sleep is always nice and needed. Second, we’re going to need that extra hour of sleep because the time change happens on November 1st, at 2 AM and many of us will be up extra late the night before for Halloween activities.
November 1st, 2026 at 2AM is the official time for the change, but you may want to prep ahead on some of your devices. Your phone, computer, and maybe your car will update automatically to the new time. Your wall clocks, stove and microwave, and other analog or manual clocks will need to be changed by hand.

How To Prepare For the Daylight Saving Time Change in Idaho
You can change those clocks before you go to bed and then it may ease the confusion of waking up to different times on various devices in your house.
As for that extra hour of sleep, it may not be as exciting as it sounds. Since our bodies have their own internal clocks that we can’t simply turn a knob to change, it may take a few days for your body to acclimate to the earlier sunsets.
And remember, just because it is officially now the fall season, doesn’t mean Idaho cares and you will definitely see a variety of seasonal weather over the next few weeks.
