‘Narcos’ Hits New York (With Gabriel Iglesias?) in Full Season 3 Trailer
It’ll be a grand experiment whether Narcos succeeds without Pablo Escobar or half its cast, but as the new Season 3 trailer reminds us, cocaine is all about succession. See Narcos take a trip to NY and go full crime drama in a violent new trailer full of famous faces.
Our first full Narcos Season 3 trailer opens in New York of all places, featuring a tense barbershop confrontation (and comedian Gabriel Iglesias, apparently). Not only was Season 3 partially filmed in New York, but the trailer will actually be shown throughout the city on a Narcos truck that offers “white powdered donuts and Colombian coffee.”
So reads the synopsis for Narcos Season 3, which adds the subtitle Rise of a New Empire:
Now that the bloody hunt for Pablo Escobar has ended, the DEA turns its attention to the richest drug trafficking organization in the world: the Cali Cartel. Led by four powerful godfathers, this cartel operates much differently than Escobar’s, preferring to bribe government officials and keep its violent actions out of the headlines.
The new trailer also shows off looks at the new cast, including Sense8 star Miguel Angel Silvestre, Halt & Catch fire star Kerry Bishe, and Broad City favorite Arturo Castro:
Jorge Salcedo (Matias Varela)- Cali’s head of security who prioritizes his wife and kids’ protection over his bosses
DEA agents Chris Feistl (Michael Stahl-David) and Daniel Van Ness (Matt Whelan), who enter the operation with enthusiasm and inexperience
Franklin Jurado (Miguel Angel Silvestre)- the cartel’s money launderer who unknowingly puts his wife, Christina (Kerry Bishe) in mortal danger
David Rodriguez (Arturo Castro)- Miguel’s oldest son, who is reluctant at first to take a leading role in the cartel structure
We’ll see more before the September 1 premiere, so watch the first Narcos Season 3 teaser below and stay tuned.
