If you've been floating the Boise River or enjoying most sections of the Greenbelt, you may have forgotten that just a couple months ago many places along the trail were damaged.

At this point, most of the damage has been repaired, but there are still some locations that are in need of repair and, at this point, remain closed.

The Idaho Statesman caught up with Boise Parks and Recreation to get an update on the progress.  They found out that previously announced locations remain in the assessment phase.  Once they have all the information gathered, they will obtain bids from the contractors they had already selected for repairs a few weeks ago.

At this point, the expectation is the work could start in the fall or early-winter, and depending on how severe winter weather is this year, would continue to complete repairs by mid-spring.

The biggest concern remains the cost of repairs, and without the bids being compelted, that remains an unknown at this point.  The biggest priorities for repair are the West ParkCenter Bridge pathway and the Veterans Park pathway.  The ParkCenter pathway was severely damaged.

Even though the Boise River is at safe levels for recreation, officials are still needing levels to fall further for repair purposes.
