Fires are causing problems across the State of Idaho and Eastern Oregon. The Soda Fire in southwest Idaho and eastern Oregon is now the nation's largest burning fire according to the National Interagency Fire Center.

The fire has exploded in growth over the past 48 hours to over 218,000 acres.

Highway 95 has closed and opened several times over the past two days. All primary access roads to Silver City have been closed by the Owyhee County and Malheur County Sheriff's office.

The Soda Fire is moving at about 4 miles per hour and has been upgraded to a Type 1 Incident -- the most aggressive response. About 250 firefighters will battle the fire thru the night.

Idaho Power and fire officials are working closely to address the power outage in Jordan Valley, Arock, Rome and Marsing areas. Idaho Power says a mobile generator has been in place and power should be in place to hundreds of customers affected by the fire.

In Oregon a Wildfire has closed I-84 at Ontario. Odot Recomends to use alternate routes. Local residents of Farewell Bend, Huntington and Durkee only may be allowed westbound I-84 access from Ontario to get home must show identification at OR 201 Weiser Junction. No commercial truck traffic.
