A New COVID Variant Has Arrived… Will It Strike Idaho?
Do you remember those random movie trailers for horror movies with the voiceover guy saying: "JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE SAFE..."?
Yeah, well, this feels a lot like that with the recent announcement that our old buddy, COVID, is making its rounds again. Only this time, it's bringing "razors"...
What Is Ol' COVID Up To These Days?
Many people believe COVID is a non-factor these days, and those people would be mostly correct. Are there individuals who still catch it? Maybe, but we can all agree that it's nowhere near the level of 2020.
However, doctors are telling the folks at TODAY that a new COVID variant is starting to make its rounds once more, and this time, it's bringing "razors" along with it... sorta.

According to TODAY, doctors say this new COVID variant is bringing along a symptom experts are calling "razor blade throat" and well, you can probably guess what that means as far as sensations go.
Doctors say that the variant comes from the omicron strain of COVID and has been nicknamed "Nimbus." Symptoms include runny nose, fever, nausea, vomiting, and yes, "razor blade throat."
What Can We Do About It?
It doesn't appear there are any major outbreaks here in Idaho, and it's very unlikely this strain will bring the level of havoc and chaos that 2020's COVID-19 virus brought.
Still, experts say the people who are most susceptible to catching this new variant are the elderly and immunocompromised individuals.
Experts do predict a small rise this summer, but still, we're hopeful it won't be anything most of us have to worry about.
