Weekend Fire Shuts Down ‘The Curb’ in Meridian Until Further Notice
Fire crews responded to a popular Meridian restaurant on Sunday morning and thankfully, they did so quickly.
This past weekend, smoke from an unknown source became apparent in Meridian's 'The Curb Bar & Grill', and kitchen staff very wisely called for the Fire Department to investigate.
Once the restaurant evacuated, there was indeed a fire in between the kitchen walls and due to damage, the restaurant will be forced to remains closed for a bit.
For years, The Curb has been a local favorite to grab a bite, a drink, or watch local sporting events. Locally owned and operated, The Curb is a solid member of our community and it also employs a ton of local residents as well.
To no surprise, many locals are heartbroken--but relieved that there were no injuries and that the restaurant will be re-opening once repairs are made.

In a release from the Meridian Fire Department, officials shared some behind-the-scenes information on what crews arrived to on Sunday morning:
At approximately 10:39 a.m. today, Meridian Fire Department and Boise Fire Department responded to a report of smoke inside The Curb Bar and Grill, located near the 1700 block of S. Meridian Rd. Crews arrived to find light smoke inside the building that increased as the incident progressed. Firefighters initially had difficulty locating the source before identifying the problem in the kitchen area. The Curb sustained significant damage and will be closed for an extended period.
The Meridian Fire Department also went on to say that all occupants of the building safely evacuated and there were no civilian or firefighter injuries.
While The Curb Bar & Grill experienced the most damage, neighboring businesses felt the impact, too. Both Lovejoy Ice Cream and Red Pavilion have some minor smoke damage. Despite this, they will both be able to re-open immediately.
Ownership took to Facebook to thank the Meridian Fire Department, who according to him, arrived in just 4-minutes. He described the kitchen's condition as if 'a bomb went off'. You can see his full statement, below:
