We've already determined that most Idahoans aren't in favor of their kids being driven to school in an all-electric school bus. So, how are y'all feeling about self-driving vehicles here in Idaho shuttling people around?

Let's find out.

How does Idaho feel about self-driving vehicles?

Across the country, around 87% of drivers are somewhat skeptical about autonomous vehicles (AVs), but are in favor of some autonomous features like emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.

Would Idahoans take a ride in an AV taxi, aka a robotaxi?

While 53% of Americans say they would absolutely not ride in an AV, that leaves almost half of the country in agreement that they'd be ok with it.

Should I look into buy an AV for myself?

According to AAA, you're definitely going to want to do plenty of research before diving in to the world of cars that drive you:

As with any vehicle purchase, please do your homework.  Research the vehicle online and be ready to ask a salesperson how the advanced technology works before you drive a car off the lot. Down the road, autonomous vehicles may take center stage.  But with the rare exception of some robotaxis in a handful of cities, we still need very engaged human drivers right now.

What's your take? Would you be alright with an AV scooting you around Boise? Let us know.

If you think we're a bunch of hippies living in the future, you should know this: AV ride sharing services already exist.

So, it's not a matter of if AVs are going to be taking over the roads, but when.
