Should Table Rock Be Renamed “The Rock Of Boise?”
If you haven't heard, the Gulf of Mexico has been renamed the Gulf of America. At least, for now. No idea how that one's going to shake out. Anyway...
That got us thinking: Should we revisit the names of some famous Boise landmarks? Should we un-clutch our pearls and realize that it is possible for landmarks and locations to have better names? Let's take a look.
Is Boise's famous Table Rock undergoing a name change in the recent future?
Some Boisians believe it's due time to change the name of Boise's iconic Table Rock. You know, that mountain-looking thing in the distance with the lit-up cross on top? Yes, that Table Rock.
So, if not "Table Rock," what would we call it? The idea of renaming it to "The Rock of Boise" has been floated around, but we're not so sure.
Doesn't that sound like the name of a radio station that would exclusively play Bon Jovi and Imagine Dragons, and that's it? Yes, we get that Table Rock is Boise's thing, and calling it The Rock Of Boise may be more literally accurate, but we're on the table.

If you've never been to Table Rock before, it really is a one-of-a-kind spectacle to behold. Seeing that few across Boise and beyond is something you simply have to experience for yourself. Just not right now, because it's cold and that sounds miserable.
In the meantime, here's a few snaps from a recent hike we took up Table Rock here in Boise.
