Check Out The New Boise State Blue!
Thousand of fans took advantage of the open house Wednesday afternoon at Albertsons Stadium. Although college football season is more than three months away, it was like game day without the game.
For the first time in modern history, the Boise State Football Team was offering the public a chance to buy the Blue. The iconic Blue Field has been replaced by a brand new blue field. Hundreds of fans lined up before 5pm to get in line to own a part of college football history.
Fans also had a chance to go on the field to get a firsthand account of the 'New Blue.' In addition to checking out the field, Boise State Football Players posed for pictures and signed autographs for fans of all ages.
The Boise State Cheerleaders, Cheer Team, and Buster Bronco kept the crowd entertained. Athletes and non athletes had a chance to play catch, corn hole or even hit the blocking sled. (No word on how many people hit the sled or were hit by the sled.)
Boise State Officials expect the sale of the Blue Turf to go fast. Over 500 square foot pieces were offered first to members of the Bronco Athletic Association beginning at 5pm. The doors were opened to the general public at 6pm.
Boise State priced the square foot of blue at 39.95. Fans were limited to one purchase per customer.
