Look, it's 2023 and it's time to get something straight - don't be a jerk. This isn't me telling you that you are a jerk nor am I even saying to make a nEw YeAr ReSoLuTiOn around the idea of not being a jerk. I am simply requesting on behalf of all the people of the Treasure Valley, if you're going to call this place home... don't be a jerk!

What the hell are we talking about?

I'm glad you asked - there are many ways one could be classified as a jerk. In today's case, it's about our beloved trails throughout the Treasure Valley. We have seen quite a bit of precipitation to start the new year it's important to remind people to not hike or bike on the trails when the trails are wet or muddy.

How And Why Are People Still Disrespecting Boise Trails?

If you want to be inconsiderate and have no shame in upsetting others, here's how you can destroy the trails of the Treasure Valley.

This isn't just a courtesy request either, no no... this is an actual law. Idaho legislation says:

Any person who defaces or destroys a trail within the system or appurtenances thereto is guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500), or imprisonment not exceeding six (6) months, or both.

That's right! When it comes to the trails, if you mess around and find out (I think I said that right), you could be facing a serious fine and even land yourself in jail for up to six freaking months! It's not worth it and you definitely don't want to be the person who ruins a good thing for the hikers and bikers of the Treasure Valley.

There are also a few other laws that you may want to be aware of so you don't look like a jerk in 2023. Let's take a look...
