Is It Legal To Prepare And Serve Turducken In Idaho?
As you're mentally preparing yourself for the Thanksgiving meal you're preparing for your family this year, surely you have questions:
- How much food should I prepare?
- Can I depend on everyone to bring a side dish?
- Should I shove a chicken inside a duck, and then shove both of those up inside a turkey and cook the entire thing?
Like we said, there's always questions.
Turducken is a dish consisting of a deboned chicken stuffed into a deboned duck, further stuffed into a deboned turkey.
If this is the first time you're hearing about turducken, just know that yes, it's a very real thing that thousands of Americans enjoy every year at the Thanksgiving table.
However, is that allowed? Can you legally prepare and serve a turducken at Thanksgiving?
Preparing and eating turducken is completely legal in Idaho.
Now, if you're capturing the animals through nefarious or illegal means, that's another store. Please don't do that. Idaho has some pretty strict hunting laws that you're going to want to be privy to.
So, enjoy that mountain of meat you call a meal this year at Thanksgiving, without having to worry about the police knocking on your door inquiring about your main course.
