I love the thought of being in shape and having God-like muscles but I also hate the idea of needing to work out and exercise to get that type of physique. It seems like such a chore just getting to the point that you can work out by driving to a gym, getting dressed, and having the motivation to not just sit in a sauna once you get there.

Things Idahoans Do That Count As Exercise

Lucky for us, this is Idaho and even without hitting a gym, we do a lot of things every day that can be counted as exercise. Your body doesn’t care if you are sitting at a weight machine or lifting heavy things outdoors, what really matters is that you are doing something physical. If you’re an Idaho parent, just existing and keeping track of your kids is exercise. For the farmers, you already know that just doing your job is probably more exercise than you could ever get at a gym.

Driving Kids To School and Church Activities

At the gym, you can knock out a bunch of squats and feel the burn in your quads, or you can get in and out of the car a dozen times as you pick up kids and drop them off at events.

Responding To Your Spouse

Depending on who your spouse is, this might be the biggest exercise on the list. All spouses know that as soon as you sit down, your loved one will almost immediately need you to get up and do something. Sit down enough times and you’ve got a great day of full-body exercise and cardio.

Carrying Groceries

Carrying groceries is an excellent arm and upper body workout. Especially if you try to carry everything at once. If you do the grocery carrying in a few trips it can count as cardio too.
