Watch Don Rickles Insult Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, Amy Poehler, and More in New Posthumous Web Series
Though we lost the legendary Don Rickles earlier this year when he passed away at age 90 from kidney failure, the late insult comic’s sense of humor lives on, and not just in his previous work. Rickles had one last project under his belt, a web series where the comedian trades insults with famous comedians over dinner. And now you can watch all 13 episodes.
Dinner With Don, produced and released on YouTube by AARP Studios, features the iconic actor and comic sharing a meal with handful of comedians and actors, but not without a hefty side of scorching barbs. In one episode, shared by Vanity Fair, Rickles sits down in with Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese to recount the time he met the actor and filming his memorable role in Casino. The episode is filled with great clips, including Rickles’ infamous roast of Frank Sinatra. “I loved and admired Don, but I don’t want to say anything nice about him,” De Niro told Vanity Fair about filming the web series episode. “It might piss him off and make him come back from the dead.”
In another episode, released by Rolling Stone, the comic has dinner with Amy Poehler. Some for the two recalling their first time meeting, stay for Rickles’ impressions of Clark Gable and Burt Lancaster.
The rest of the series includes Rickles roasting Billy Crystal, Snoop Dogg, Sarah Silverman, Judd Apatow, Paul Rudd, Marisa Tomei, Jimmy Kimmel, Zach Galifianakis, Vince Vaughn, Rich Eisen, and Jonathan Silverman. Be sure to clear your schedule for the rest of the day so you can gobble up all 13 episodes over on AARP’s YouTube Channel.
