It's a preventative measure to protect the animals.

According to KTVB, Zoo Boise officials, City leaders, and other organizations are planning to build a 2,000 foot long flood barrier to protect the animals from possible flooding at the zoo.

The barrier is known as a 'muscle wall', and is similar to the one built near Eagle Island last month.

Despite the wall's construction, they're still preparing for an evacuation of over 200 animals. That task, could not only cost about $500,000, but could also stress for the animals.

Hopefully, if the area does flood, this muscle wall will work wonders and they won't have to relocate any of the animals!
