I used to hear a lot of bad things about Boise, Idaho.  Yes, really.  "You don't want to move here Rick, and tell your friends it's no good too."  I moved here two years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my take on what they were talking about.  Here's why you DO NOT want to move to Boise.

1.  There's Too Much to Do

You can hike, raft, bike, and explore in our little big town. There's never a shortage of activities to enjoy, especially when you have a river that flows straight through downtown!

2.  You'll Lose Weight

Back in 2010 Men's Health Magazine ranked Boise as the #1 healthiest city in the entire United States of America.

3.  You'll Get a Bit Tipsy

Boise has five of the best wineries in the country within walking distance.  After you've had your fill, it's a short walk to some incredible dining on 8th street in the middle of downtown.

4.  You'll Gain Weight

Hey that's a definite negative right? 8th Street offers inexpensive pizza all the way up to delicious hot spots like Juniper, The Brickyard, El Matador and just about anything and everything you want at any price.

5.  It's Too Popular

Boise's the 2nd fastest growing city in America behind Las Vegas.  I wonder what they know that the rest of the country doesn't?

6.  Too Many Choices of Music

From the live Jazz at Chandler's Steakhouse to the dueling pianos at The Brickyard to the hottest country concerts like Tim and Faith, Eric Church, Lady A and more.

7.  15 Minute Commute Times

Doesn't much matter if you're hitting I-84, Broadway or Chinden.  Everything is within a 15 minute drive.  Food, entertainment, BSU Broncos, trails and rivers, etc. Who only wants to spend 15 minutes driving!?!

8.  It's Too Affordable

I just visited my parents in San Diego and the home I grew up in is priced at close to $1 million.  What?  That same home here in Meridian would probably go for about $175,000.

9.  Locals are Too Friendly

Rarely do you hear someone honk a horn.  It's weird.  It doesn't matter if they get cut off, are going too slow, or they take too long in the divider - people around them always seem to have the patience not to honk!

10.  Ughhh... We Have All Four Seasons Here

Who wants to deal with a beautiful Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.  Boooooring right?  Skiing in the Winter goes straight into hiking, biking, camping and all sorts of water sports which blends right into BSU Bronco football season with that perfect Fall weather we get every year.
