Get Into the Discovery Center of Idaho for FREE This Sunday
Was summer so crazy that you haven't had the chance to check out The Discovery Center of Idaho's "Planet Shark: Predator or Prey" exhibit yet? Do it this weekend and do it for FREE!
Thanks to the generosity of the Micron Foundation, the Discovery Center of Idaho is opening it's doors to the public without an admission fee on Sunday, August 27th. The day revolves around math, but don't let that scare you. (It probably doesn't scare you...but it scares me. I was so lost on the last question of my AP Calculus test in high school that I drew a picture of a sun smiling behind clouds instead of attempting the problem. I also thing I'm severely scared from getting my butt kicked in a "24" tournament in middle school.) According to the Idaho Statesman, the math will be fun and presented through games and hands on exhibits. There's even a chance for you to win some fun prizes!
While you're there, you'll also have a chance to check out the "Planet Shark" exhibit. The exhibit uses SENSORY4 technology the combines motion graphics, surround sound and almost forth HD projectors to take you in to the a shark’s world. In addition to the 45-minute walk through “Planet Shark” also brings full-scale shark models cast from real animals, shark fossils, teeth and jaws that are up to 370 million years old and an up close look at shark cages. You’ll also have a chance to hear real life stories about humans interacting with sharks and get to play with some hands-on shark fun.
If "Planet Shark" isn't enough underwater fun for you, make sure you stop and check out the "H2Woah!" exhibit as well! Their giant Lite-Brite made out of water bottles is something really cool for both kids and adults like us who grew up with the toy!
The FREE admission deal is available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday!
