Multiple sclerosis (MS) is no joke. According to the National MS Society, one million people live with MS in the United States. According to the Mayo Clinic, MS is a disease that attacks the brain and central nervous system. In a nutshell, the immune system disrupts the communication between your brain and the rest of the body.

My wife, Bailey has been suffering from MS since she was diagnosed in her early 20s. She suffers from symptoms such as numbness, temporary loss of sight, "pins and needles" sensations, and occasionally slurred speech. It's frustrating to watch someone you love suffer from these types of symptoms and I'm sure it's more frustrating when your body isn't cooperating with your brain.

Is there a cure?

Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for MS. My wife, Bailey has had success keeping symptoms at bay with regular exercise. We've had her on medications before, gone through infusions, and other countless remedies. Like my wife, Bailey, there are hundreds of thousands of other people experiencing these symptoms and this struggle.

But there are people doing something about it.

MS Run the US: America's first and only 3,260-mile ultra relay run

Recently, a vibrant email arrived in my inbox that was full of positivity and ambition. Cat Ostrem contacted us regarding a huge running fundraiser coming up, MS Run the US.

"MS Run the US is an Ultra Relay race across the US to raise awareness and funds for research for Multiple Sclerosis, which has personally affected our family," Cat and her sister said in an official press release. The sisters were selected out of only 20 individuals to run "Segment 5", a section of the relay that is a whopping 188 miles.

"Together we will be running Segment 5, which is 188 miles in 7 days from Nephi, Utah to Vernal, Utah (in) May 2023!"

In their press release, Cat and sister, Christina shared that their entire family has been affected by MS.

"MS has affected our family in many ways; our older sister, our dad, and Cat have all been diagnosed."

If you want to support the sisters in their battle against MS, you can do so at this link or use the QR code below.
