In a world where cameras exist...everywhere. Does anyone really believe that they can escape the police?

One Treasure Valley resident seemed to think that driving away from a traffic stop might result in a less eventful evening but it actually ended up ending in an opposite kind of way.

A social media post went absolutely insane overnight after a driver's decision to escape a Star Police Officer caught the eyes of thousands.

Police originally shared their plea for public help on Facebook:

Ada County Sheriff’s deputies and Eagle Police deputies are seeking help identifying the driver of this blue 2003–2005 Yamaha R6 motorcycle.
On June 6, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Star Police deputy observed the motorcycle traveling eastbound on State Street at a high rate of speed. A short time later, on Highway 16, an Eagle deputy located the motorcycle traveling at approximately 100 mph. When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, the motorcycle driver fled the area.

Along with the ask for help, authorities shared two very clear photos of the motorcycle.

While the driver was unidentifiable due to his helmet--officers hoped that someone would recognize the blue motorcycle.

The post, for whatever reason, absolutely 'blew up' on social media, garnering over 8,000 comments and even more reactions.

An update that came in from the Ada County Sheriff's Office just Tuesday afternoon, confirmed that the suspect was identified by several tips--and eventually turned himself in to the Star Police Department.

The suspect, 18-year-old Garrett Gillespie, was booked into the Ada County Jail on one Felony charge for fleeing a police officer on a motor vehicle.
