Boy Loses Life Riding Scooter Hit by Vehicle in Meridian

This is one of those absolutely heartbreaking stories. I can promise you no one involved wanted this to happen but there was a tragic accident that took place yesterday in Meridian.

KTVB was first to report the details about a boy who passed away last night after being hit by a vehicle while riding his scooter on Eagle Road. Just to be clear, the boy was not riding the new e-scooters that have been popping up around the Treasure Valley.

The incident took place just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of Eagle Road and Easy Jet Drive. The boy was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

The boy's name and age have not been released yet from law enforcement. There is no word on if the boy was at a crosswalk at the time of the crash.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with law enforcement. Officers did eventually clear the scene at 9:00 p.m. last night.

I have no idea what the parents of that little boy are going through but please keep them in your prayers as they try to get through this very difficult time.
