There is no doubt about it, the holidays are quickly approaching. We have less than 50 days until Christmas and the PTO at Lewis and Clark Elementary in Caldwell is looking for some help putting on a very special program.

Santa's Workshop is a week long event. So what happens is, during school hours teachers schedule a time to bring their students to a designated room in the school where the PTO has set up items that have been donated by various people and the students get to pick two items for someone in their family. Then the gifts are wrapped and name tags are put on for the students to take home and put under the tree. They ask that the students bring a $1 donation to the PTO but it is not required. Items do not need to be brand new but in like new conditions. Things like toys, books, tools for dad (dad gifts are always needed), kitchen gadgets and knickknacks, purses, lotions and candles, picture frames and of course wrapping paper and gift bags.

The PTO at Lewis and Clark do these fundraisers to pay 100% cost of field trips so they can ensure all students get the opportunity to go at no cost to the families. They also use money for classroom supplies and school needs that funding from the state does not cover.
If anyone is willing to donate they can drop things off at the front office of Lewis and Clark Elementary at 1102 Laster St. Caldwell 83607 or if there are any questions call the school at 208-455-3345.
