Earlier today officials received a false report about an active shooter being at Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls, Idaho. The reports allegedly detailed that there were multiple shots fired, and that at least one student was hurt. However, these reports were false.

The Twin Falls Police Department responded to the school and have now conducted 3 sweeps. There are no injuries reported and students have been released from school. KMTV News shared on Facebook...

"The TFPD have just conducted a third sweep of Canyon Ridge High School. According the police officials, multiple schools - across multiple states - have received similar threats. No injuries have been reported - parents have started to pick up their children."

So, this was reported to be part of a nationwide hoax, as multiple schools throughout the country have experienced this today. KMTV says on Facebook, "Wednesday's school shooting threats, including the one at Canyon Ridge High School are part of a nationwide hoax."

From what we can tell, the student's families were immediately notified via a message from School District 25, detailing that this was an act of "swatting" throughout the country. Swatting being the, "action or practice of making a prank call to emergency services in an attempt to bring about the dispatch of a large number of armed police officers to a particular address."

Here is a screenshot of what that message to the families entailed.
