In today's economy, every dollar helps and when the opportunity to make a buck arises, you seize it. A recent settlement with Apple means that iPhone users (even former users) across the country could be eligible to receive some cash from Apple.

A class-action lawsuit filed against Apple

A lawsuit was filed against Apple for audio issues on their iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. According to the site for the class action lawsuit, "the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus experienced certain audio issues allegedly related to the 'audio IC' chip."

The site also reports that Apple denied any wrongdoing and claims there were no issues with the iPhone 7 or the iPhone 7 Plus.

Would you expect them to say otherwise?

As it turns out, Apple decided to settle for a whopping $35 million and now funds are being paid out, with some individuals expected to receive up to $349.

If you're wondering if you're eligible, you have to have owned an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus between September 16, 2016, and January 3, 2023, according to the settlement forms. You must have also reported to Apple that you were having issues that Apple has a record of including "Sound-Speaker, Sound-Microphone, Sound-Receiver, Unexpected Restart/Shutdown, or Power On-Device Unresponsive ("Covered Issues"), including but not limited to those who paid Apple out of pocket for repairs or replacements..."

If you qualify, payments will be no less than $50 and as we shared above, no more than $349. If you want to learn more about the lawsuit, if you're eligible, and access to the necessary documents, you can check out the site for the settlement here.
