It makes every parent's nightmare: your child goes missing. It doesn't matter how old they are either, if you can't communicate with them, locate them, or know their whereabouts, it's like a piece of you is missing.

This is the sad reality for an Oregon family looking for any information on the whereabouts of their 17-year-old daughter.

Oregon teen mysteriously vanishes

Breauna Vaughn, aged 17, went missing on Thursday. At the time of this writing, there is no concrete reason for her disappearance but from what we know, it appears she acted on her own will. Whether or not she was influenced by others is currently unknown and when you look at the circumstances surrounding her mysterious disappearance, it doesn't seem to make much sense.

According to ChildFindOfAmerica.org, an estimated 2,300 children are missing every day in the United States. While we don't know if Breauna chose to act on her own, two-thirds of runaways are aged between 15 and 17 years old according to ChildFindAmerica.org.

If Breauna did decide to run away, the stats say that 99% of runaways return home. Still - she is a minor and there is no telling who else could be involved.

That alone, is terrifying. It could be anyone and as a parent, it's terrifying to imagine what control or leverage someone could get over your child. Even more horrifying to think about is how they obtained that control.

Again - we're not here to throw out assumptions but as a fellow parent, these are the types of horrifying thoughts that will run through your mind.

It's why we must come together, look at the facts, band together, and do our part to help Breauna Vaughn return home to her family.

Let's look at the facts...
