
Idaho State Police Reported 12 People Seriously Injured in Memorial Day Weekend Accidents
Over the Memorial Day Weekend, the Idaho State Police reported that there were at least seven serious accidents, three of which were fatal, killing 5 people. The other four accidents were serious, resulting in a dozen people, including three juvenile passengers, being taken to various hospitals.
Five of the people injured required transport by air ambulance. One of the injury accidents resulted in two vehicles catching fire. Details on each accident can be found below.
The Idaho State Police Reported 12 People Seriously Injured in Memorial Day Accidents

The first weekend accident happened on Sunday morning at about 5:48 at the westbound offramp of I84 at mile marker 33 in Nampa.
A Mazda 5, driven by a 23-year old male from Ontario, Oregon, was traveling westbound on I84 and collided with a Volvo Truck-Tractor and a Great Dane Trailer, driven by a 54-year old male from Beaverton, Oregon.
The driver of the Mazda was taken to a local hospital.
Three People Injured in Western Idaho Head-on Highway Accident
The second serious accident over the holiday weekend happened around 11:30 on Sunday morning on SH45 at mile marker 10.4.
A Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 22-year-old male from Melba with a 45-year-old male passenger from Melba, was traveling southbound on State Highway 45 and collided head-on with a GMC Terrain, driven by a 35-year-old male from Meridan, traveling northbound.
Both drivers were taken by ground ambulance to the hospital. The Tacoma passenger was taken by air ambulance.
5 People Injured In Fiery Crash in Southern Idaho On Memorial Day
A serious accident in Southern Idaho near Paul sent 5 people to the hospital on Monday afternoon. The accident happened a few minutes after 1 PM at the 1150 W and 300 N intersection in Minidoka County.
A 38-year-old male from Rupert was traveling eastbound on 300 N in a 2002 Honda CR-V when he failed to obey a stop sign.
A 2025 Jeep Compass driven by a 23-year-old female from Paul, ID, was traveling northbound on 1150 and collided with the Honda CR-V.
The Jeep tipped on its side from the impact and caught fire. The flames spread to the Honda and a grassy area near the crash, but all occupants were able to escape the vehicles.
The driver of the Honda and a juvenile passenger from the Jeep were taken to hospitals by ground ambulance. The driver of the Jeep, plus two juvenile passengers, were taken to local hospitals by air ambulance.

The 4th injury accident from the weekend was a single-vehicle rollover accident on I15 on Tuesday morning at 7:15, near mile marker 38, in Arimo.
A 32-year-old male from Downey was traveling northbound in a 2011 Subaru Outback. The vehicle went off the roadway on the right shoulder and rolled multiple times.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken by air ambulance to a local hospital.
Idaho State Police will investigate each accident.
