This Lowkey Boise Restaurant Serves Boise’s Best Chinese Food

Sometimes, you walk into a restaurant and you can tell it's going to be authentic--that no matter what the place is like, you're in for an experience. Typically, these types of places are the ones hidden in a small store front or referred to as a "hole in the wall". You can expect a wait for your food and you know that once it's ready, it's going to be better than anything else in town.  It's the secret that you love and secretly, you want to keep it that way--so that this particular place never gets "too busy".

I walked into one of these places over the weekend and I need to share it with you.

Maybe I should say that I "wok'd" in...

I'm a huge fan of "Asian food"--pardon my sweeping terminology on that, however it's definitely my favorite cuisine. I love noodles, veggies, fish... you name it. When a friend tipped me off to a local place that goes above and beyond, I had to try it.

If you're a fan of noodle dishes like Pad Thai and others, let me warn you right now and don't be offended: if you haven't been ordering from Wok-Inn Noodle, you have been doing it all wrong.

In Boise since the 80's, Wok-Inn Noodle is locally owned and operated. When we say that--we mean it. The owner literally does it all- he welcomes you, he cooks, and it's all made to order. A little sign on the inside asks for your patience:

I ordered the "House Noodles" which consisted of HOMEMADE noodles, chicken, beef, shrimp, and some of the freshest vegetables I've had in a very long time.  If you know me, you know that I LOVE spicy food so I ordered mine as spicy as the chef would make it-- YES it was amazing--and it had been a long time since my eyebrows were literally sweating from my meal. I left a very happy boy.

The eggrolls were also handmade at the time of ordering--and were amazing.

With the lights very dim inside of Wok-Inn Noodle, we weren't even sure if they were open when we visited--luckily they were. Your dining experience is tucked back behind all sorts of plants and vases but it just adds to the experience.

Hands down, Wok-Inn Noodle is one of the most "homemade" dining options in the entire city and it shocked me that there wasn't a line around the block for dinner.
