As the Pioneer fire grows, voluntary evacuations in select Lowman communities continues, according to fire managers.
The fire has grown to an estimated 80,400 acres by early Wednesday afternoon. Twenty families have been asked to leave their homes so far, with a Level 2 evacuation ordered for families living on Bear Valley and Lowman Home roads, along with North Shore drives, Hall, and the area near Milepost 31.
Under the level 2 evacuations, families are strongly encouraged to leave, however they are not mandated.
There are currently 1,900 fire men and women working on the fire.
