Just before 10 o'clock, yesterday morning 55-year-old William Balding lost his life after crashing his motorcycle into a guardrail on Highway 55 in the Banks, Idaho area.  KTVB reports that The Idaho State Police have been on the scene running a thorough investigation to find out why Balding ended up in this accident.

There's not much forgiveness with motorcycles and crashes and this one, unfortunately, followed that trend.  Balding was not wearing a helmet.  When his bike crashed into the guardrail, the impact sent him flying forward.  He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

I hope that this serves as a reminder to all of us to drive carefully.  If you're on a motorcycle you HAVE to drive defensively.  You HAVE to expect people to not see you because it happens all the time.  If you're driving a car, please be aware of motorcycles and other vehicles and you too should expect the unexpected.

I would imagine Balding's family is mourning the loss of their loved one today.  I hope that somehow they can get through this in their own way and will keep his memory alive.
