The old Velma Morrison home has been on the market for a hot minute and now has a new owner. A Denver Nugget.

Bill Wendlandt the former big man for the NBA's Denver Nuggets recently purchased Velma Morrison home dubbed "Camelot View" . You may not be able to recognize the home by its name, but once you see this masterpiece it will ring a few bells. Wendlandt, now a Boise Real Estate Broker will now call the 12,703 square foot property their new family home. The home sat empty without a resident since 2013 when the namesake of the Morrison Center Performance Center, on the Boise State University campus passed away.

Velma Morrison was a big reason that the arts are such a massive focus of many Treasure Valley locals. When she passed away at 92, the philanthropist spent the majority of her time focused on charities and organizations dedicated to enriching the lives of those who visited.

There are many buildings as well as sites located in Boise and the surrounding areas that bare Mrs. Morrison's name. The Morrison Center for Performing Arts most notably. Many Broadway Productions have stopped in the Treasure Valley such as "Les Miserables", "Cats", and "My Fair Lady". In June The Phantom Of The Opera will grace the stage. Velma also was a nurse during World War II and spent time in Alaska. She also had a very large influence at the World Center for Birds Of Prey, so much so that they named an auditorium dubbed Velma Morrison Interpretive Center.

What was the exact price tag of the property?  Wendlandt wouldn't say, but that it was close to a cool $1.9 Million. Well worth it, and welcome to the neighborhood.
