Vandalism or Simple Fun? Viral Boise State Video Sparks Debate
The college experience can go a variety of different ways and for most people, it's a time of learning, self-discovery, and of course, fun.
A recent video has sparked concerns about the fun college kids are having... and if they're crossing the line.
"It lives on the internet forever!"
Let's start by acknowledging the elephant in the room - many of us are thankful that social media didn't exist when we were in college or high school. While we might not necessarily have been committing illegal acts, we probably don't want some of the embarrassing things we did living on the internet.
Recently, a video was posted to the popular Instagram account "@BarstoolBroncos" a spin-off account from Barstool Spots. It's important to note that in the bio, they make it known they're not affiliated with the real Boise State Broncos.
And it's a good thing they're not either.
Simple fun... or vandalism?
The video posted by @BarstoolBroncos is taken from the perspective of the driver's side of a car. In it, we see a person attempting to go through fence panels not once, not twice... but five times.
People weren't shy about sharing their opinions on the matter either. One person commented on the integrity of the fence before criticizing the act.
"Honestly it didn't seem like it was gonna hold back much anyways but it's also pretty messed up to ruin someone's fence," wrote one person.
Another comment was a bit more interesting as it appeared to be the owner of the property.
"This is our property," the user wrote, "There is nothing funny about this. We will make sure we use this video when we file a police report and charges."
"There is nothing funny about vandalizing the property of a senior car facility. This is their home you are vandalizing! Not okay."
