You know the old adage, if something is too good to be true, it most likely is too good to be true.  (Disclaimer, this is not click bait.)  A new report that is getting international attention says that a particle fast food french fries could be the secret weapon to end baldness. Before you throw away the minoxidil, here are the details.  Muscle and Fitness Magazine reports that according to a Japanese study, the oil used in McDonald's fries could bring back your hair.

The study did not involve humans, but did lead many experts to believe that the oil dimethylpolysiloxane helped mice regrow their hair.  Male patterned baldness is a continueing problem.  85% of males will notice their hair thinning by 50, according to WebMD.

McDonald's uses the oil/chemical in its Chicken McNuggets and  Filet of Fish Sandwich, says USA Today. Researches explained to USA Today how it all works.

"These self-sorted hair follicle germs were shown to be capable of efficient hair-follicle and shaft generation upon intracutaneous transplantation into the backs of nude mice," reads an excerpt from the study.

Published reports indicate that the scientists and researchers believe this study could eventually lead to studies involving humans.  While no time table for additional research, most expect continued research in this field to answer the question once and for all, involving whether or not humans will be able to regrow their hair.
