Better Hurry, Hot Cocoa Bombs Are Disappearing from Idaho Shelves
You guys … my mom started making ‘Cocoa Bombs’ a couple years ago (and they’re amazing) so we try to stay up to date in that space, but I don’t think we ever realized the idea came from right here in Boise, Idaho.
That absolutely blows my mind. Did you know that? I sure didn’t.
Eric Torres-Garcia, who’s from Blackfoot and went to Boise State University, came up with the idea in 2019. He then posted a video on TikTok sharing his creation and within a few hours he had over a million views and hundreds of orders coming in.
Anyway, I’ve been craving some Cocoa Bombs lately, and I felt kinda weird actually because it’s not exactly freezing cold outside anymore, and it’s definitely not the Christmas season anymore … so, is it still okay to drink hot chocolate? And of course, it absolutely is.
But the real question is … are people still making and selling these?
In fact, I had a few questions for Boise hot cocoa bomb creators, so I called 5 shops in/near Boise – Flour Child, Bite Me Bars, Stella’s Ice Cream, Weiser Classic Candy ... and of course Momma Linda’s (my mom) – to ask them questions.
