This is something that I will never understand, why would someone want to trash the place that we call home. It doesn't make any sense at all. But unfortunately that is the case according to Idaho Fish and Game being reported by KTVB.

Our fish and game officials have seen an uptick in people dumping all sorts of garbage at hunting access points across the state of Idaho.

More than a dozen reports of illegal dumping have been documented in the past 10 months. We're talking about everything from trash, construction supplies, pallets, furniture, animal remains, nails, asphalt, tires and anything else you can think of.

On top of being disrespectful to where we call home, the clean up is funded from hunters and anglers, so it's costing money that could be put to better use.

If caught dumping illegally you're looking at a misdemeanor and up to six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine. Plus the part that should always be enforced, eight to forty hours of litter cleanup.

If you have any idea on who is behind the illegal dumping you're encouraged to contact law enforcement. The information they need is vehicle license plate numbers, description of the violator, location, date and time of the dumping.

Let's work together to keep Idaho beautiful. And hold people accountable if they are dumping illegally.
