Meridian Police Arrest Suspect
Meridian Police arrest suspect outside of Fast Eddy's.
Thursday morning Meridian Police responded to the Fast Eddy’s in the area of Ustick and Venable for a call of a suspicious subject who was harassing customers and store employees. While police were in route to the call, the suspect fled his vehicle on foot. Police received a call from a realtor stating a suspicious male was running toward the area of W Sedgwick St. and N Vallin Ave displaying a knife. This suspect matched the description reported at Fast Eddy’s. At one point the suspect entered an occupied home, in the 600 block of W Claire Ct., pushing past the resident and stealing car keys after brandishing a knife.
With the help of nearby homeowners, police located the fleeing suspect wielding a fixed blade knife in the 700 block of W Sedgwick St. The suspect was tased by a Meridian Police officer and taken into custody. The suspect was identified as twenty-eight (28) year old transient, Lantz H. REEVES. REEVES damaged private property by forcing entry through fenced yards while attempting to hide and flee from police.
REEVES was booked for the following misdemeanors: Resisting and Obstructing, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Malicious Injury to Property and Providing False Information to Law Enforcement and the following felonies: Burglary x 2, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement, Armed Robbery and two (2) felony warrants for Possession of a Controlled Substance and one (1) warrant for Forgery.
