After a rather unexpected warm January, that featured little to no snowfall.  The Treasure Valley is gearing up for a snow filled weekend.  Although the Valley has not seen a lot of snow, the mountain ski areas continue to have more than enough 'white gold' to please Gem State skiers and snowboarders.According our news partners KTVB, we could see some snow action this weekend.  A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the following counties: Ada, Canyon, Elmore, Gem, Gooding, Jerome, Malheur, Owyhee, Payette, Twin Falls, and Washington from tonight till Sunday night at 5pm.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the following counties: Adams, Blaine, Boise, Camas, Elmore, Gem, Valley and Washington.  KTVB's Meteorologist Rick Lance says that 'potential in the Valley could be 1-2 inches including the possibility of snow Monday morning.  The winds will be East at ten to twenty miles an hour.

A few other areas that could get more snowfall are led by Hailey with up to eight inches and McCall that could get up to five inches of snow.  The forecast favors Gem State ski resorts that could see excessive amounts of snow.  Here are a few of those locations: Anthony Lakes 14-18, Brundage 14-18, Tamarack 14-18, Bogus Basin 14-18, Sun Valley 18-24, Soldier 18-24 and Pomerelle 4-6.

If you're traveling it's best to make sure that your gas tank is full and you take time to wipe off all windows before driving on snowy roads.
