A  car drove into building at Saint Alphonsus-North Medical Center in Nampa Wednesday afternoon. Nampa Police  responded to the Saint Alphonsus-North Medical Center in the 4400 block of E. Flamingo. Nampa Police Dispatch received calls that a vehicle had driven into the building at that location.
When officers arrived on scene, they found that a 2005, white, Dodge passenger vehicle had crashed into the front of the building. There was damage to both the building and the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was an 83-year-old Nampa female. Officers on scene said she was trying to park in a parking space in front of the medical building. It appeared that she pushed on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal and crashed into the building.
The driver of the vehicle was taken into the hospital to be checked out. She was treated and released with minor injuries. Nobody else was injured in the crash. The area of the medical building where this occurred was evacuated for a short time. Nampa Fire personnel checked the building for safety and then allowed re-entry to the medical center.
The crash is still under investigation at this time and it is unknown if the driver will be cited for the crash.
