Watch Horrifying Footage Capturing the Destruction at Yellowstone
Yellowstone National Park has been experiencing extreme weather and hazardous conditions due to the unusual amount of rainfall, and there has been consequent flooding, rockslides and mudslides.
Because of this, they decided to temporarily close the entire park and evacuate the visitors that were already inside, for safety reasons.
According to a statement issued by the superintendent Cam Sholly, they made the decision to close Yellowstone to all inbound visitation, “due to record flooding events in the park and more precipitation in the forecast.”
Furthermore, Sholly stated that they will not know when the park will reopen, until the water subsides and the damage is assessed.

How bad is it?
This information is all extremely alarming, because this is such an unprecedented event.
But more troubling than anything else is seeing photographs and videos, and realizing just how bad the situation truly is.
Yellowstone released this aerial video that was taken from a helicopter, and it shows the flooding and numerous places where the roads have eroded.
The following video shows a bridge being completely taken out and destroyed by the raging waters flowing past it.
*Beware: Some graphic language
Some photos were also recently posted by Yellowstone National Park, highlighting some of the damage that they have already witnessed:
Unfortunately, all we can do is wait for this storm to pass, and then see what can be done from there.
But in the meantime, hopefully everyone is evacuated safely, and any further damage that may be inflicted is kept to a minimum.
