Long Standing Meridian Restaurant Closing Their Doors

You never want to hear about small businesses closing their doors for good, unfortunately this is one of those times as the Hungry Onion in Meridian is closing up shop.

KIVI reported the details, about the landmark that had been open since the early 1960's. One of the managers for the restaurant says that business has decreased since Meridian's main drag became a one-way street.

The restaurant best known for it's hamburgers, ice cream cones, and very well known onion sign just don't have enough customers to keep the doors open. The official last day to grab a hamburger from the Hungry Onion will be on December 28th.

After appearing in a Clint Eastwood film back in the 1980's the restaurant offered up "The Bronco Billy Burger" for a number of years, with the name of the film being "Bronco Billy". Those days have since past, and there is no word on what will happen with the historic building at this point.
