Treasure Valley Home Prices Continue to Increase
To a surprise of few, housing prices are booming once again in the Treasure Valley. Traditionally Spring begins the selling season for homes all across America. Home Sellers in Ada and Canyon Counties can look forward to record profits, according to a new reports.The Idaho Statesman reports that home prices are on the rise according to the Inter Mountain Multiple Listing Survey. Idaho, and the Treasure Valley in particular, has been recognized as one of the best places to live by a multitude of national publications. The result of this attention has caused more and more people to move into Ada and Canyon Counties elevating prices for existing homes.
Farmers and landowners have sold their lands for unprecedented profits. New subdivisions have seemingly sprung up overnight throughout the Treasure Valley. The growth is not without a negative impact on the area. Traffic congestion has stressed the existing infrastructure.
West Ada and Canyon County is where most of the new growth is occurring. Cities are struggling to build schools, stores, and restaurants to service the growth. Californians lead the nation in relocating to Idaho followed by residents of Washington, and Oregon.
One group that will benefit greatly from the home selling season is Gem State Realtors. They tell the Idaho Statesman, "“You’d better hit the saddle and tighten up your seat belt, because it’s going to be crazy."
