Anyone who's lived in the Treasure Valley knows the famous radio ad by our friends at the Mountain Home Auto Ranch, 'buy a truck and get a gun.' Now another car dealer is getting a ton of national attention for their campaign.
An Alabama dealership is offering a free shotgun, Bible, and American flag to customers to celebrate the Fourth of July. This week, Chatom Ford in Chatom, AL has unveiled its new "Guns, God and Freedom" promotion, reports the Washington Examiner. Now through July 31st, each vehicle purchase comes with a free Bible, flag, and 12-gauge shotgun.
A sales manager confirmed that the guns are not kept on-site and customers are instead given a certificate to "present to the licensed firearms dealer". Customers must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check to qualify. The dealership called the promotion "a small gift to our valued customers and a opportunity for us to celebrate our independence.
This begs the following questions if you're looking to buy a new car, truck, or SUV, "Would this deal encourage you to buy a car? Is it appropriate to give away guns with a car? Should another dealership run a counter-promotion for customers who don't want guns? No word at the time of publication as to whether Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortex will be traveling to Alabama to buy a vehicle.
